Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE)

is an educational institution in Budapest, Hungary, with a strong emphasis on the hardware-software codesign of computing circuitry. PPKE The Faculty of Information Technology at Pazmany University (PPKE-ITK) undertakes teaching and research in electronic and computer engineering and also in bionic engineering. Almost uniquely in Central Europe, it has a structure based on departments, facilitating strong collaborations between these areas. PPKE-ITK is one of the leading research groups in non-conventional computing architectures. In particular, it was a worldwide leader in the development of the Cellular Nonlinear Network Universal Machine (CNN-UM) concept, which was one of the earliest and most heavily researched non-Boolean, analog, sensory information processing computing paradigms.PPKE will be responsible for identifying areas where software solutions currently used for Edge AI, which can possibly be replaced by ONN units (and which are not covered by BMW applications). PPKE will initiate and help the development of business plans to explore the viability of hardware substitutes, develop computing models, design tools and learning methods, algorithms.
